U.S. Terminates CHNV Visa Program

The U.S. government led by Trump has announced that the special visa program (CHNV) created to bring people from countries like Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to the United States for a specific period will be canceled starting April 24, 2025.

More than 532,000 people who came to the United States through this program will no longer be able to stay there legally. They will have to leave the country, or the government will deport them. However, it would not be surprising if only a few people are allowed to stay there with an exception.

The reason why this program is being canceled is that the local security department, DHS, has discovered some important things. Many people may have committed fraud by providing fake documents. That is why they closed this program.

This arrangement is to safely bring those who want to come to the United States from these four countries. However, many people have been deceived by giving false information. For example, one person has sponsored many people. Some may have even used the names of deceased people. This is why the government does not know who is coming.

Now, many people in X are saying that it is better to cancel this program. Because, those who make mistakes like this should not be punished. However, some people are worried that it will also affect those who follow the rules.

Those who went to the US relying on this program are now confused and do not know what to do. When Trump came to power, this program was stopped for a while. But now it has been closed permanently. Those who came on this visa have to apply for another visa and get permission. Otherwise, they will have to go back to their hometowns.

There is no word on whether the government will give them any money when they go back to their hometowns. Some people are saying that this is the right decision. But many people are worried about the affected families.
